Property Turnover Inspections

Pre-Occupancy or Notice of Termination (NOT) inspections are conducted at the time of transition from the general contractor, who constructed the structure and site plan, to the property owner. This can occur the day of and up to one year after, the complete construction of the site. This inspection examines the operation of the system and creates a “punch list” for the general contractor to complete prior to the property owner assuming responsibility for the stormwater system

AQUALIS provides NOT inspections to aid in the transition of property ownership. Our Professional Engineers and certified Stormwater Inspectors work with general contractors and the local municipality to ensure the state of the property is as agreed.

A Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan is developed to guide a facility’s efforts to reduce the amount of pollutants in stormwater and runoff.

This inspection guarantees that the stormwater system being delivered by your general contractor is equivalent to or better than the stormwater system that was originally designed.

Comprehensive Property Assessment

During a comprehensive NOT Inspection, the stormwater expert documents the existing conditions of the facility with photos and inspection checklists once the general contractor has completed their inspection. The checklist and any deficiencies within the system are provided to the General Contractor, and the General Contractor then performs the outstanding punch-list tasks identified in the inspection. Once this is completed, the Notice-of-Termination can be filed.

Key Components of an Effective Stormwater Inspection Checklist

A stormwater inspection checklist should include the following:

  • Photos, maps and descriptions of a property’s stormwater management system
  • A comprehensive list of perceived and expected problems with systems and expected lifespan of assets
  • Recommendations for fixing outstanding issues
  • The inspection’s date, time and permit number
  • The inspector’s name and signature

Prolong The Life of Your Stormwater System

AQUALIS offers comprehensive maintenance and regular servicing solutions tailored to your property to ensure your stormwater systems operate correctly while extending the life of your investment and avoiding costly NOVs.

Systems We Maintain

Vegetated system designed to hold a permanent volume of water at all times with extra capacity for rain events

Vegetated system designed to hold temporary volumes of water during and following a rain event

Vegetated system designed with specific water quality and quantity aspects to channel runoff while promoting infiltration

Vegetated system designed with highly permeable soils that facilitate infiltration and groundwater recharge

Devices installed at pipe or channel outfalls that convert high-velocity channelized flow into diffused sheet flow for infiltration and removal of particulate pollutants

Outfalls are the drainage or discharge point of a stormwater system. They are designed to convey water away from urban areas.

Underground storage for collecting stormwater. Vaults have a storage capacity that regulates the flow of stormwater as it continues further downstream and off property.

These assets are collection points that allow stormwater runoff to enter stormwater assets where the water can be stored.

Underground infrastructure, also called pipelines, that convey stormwater from one place to another.

Underground systems that utilize technology and innovations to removal trash, debris, sediment and hydrocarbons from stormwater.

An underground SCM that allows stormwater to infiltrate back into the groundwater rather than another SCM or body of water.

Designed systems often retrofitted into storm sewers with storage and pollutant removal capabilities where aboveground SCM may be costly or unviable.

Science Based Trends in Stormwater Regulations

This presentation will introduce a regionally consistent framework that communities and regulators can use including water quality, volume reduction, costs and operation and maintenance burdens.
