What does AQUALIS do that my landscaper can’t do?

Water management. We focus solely on water and nothing else. We know how complicated stormwater systems work and how to best maintain them. Year after year, we must follow behind landscapers to fix the problems they have caused by either not maintaining the stormwater control measures properly or by cutting down beneficial plants that were implemented to manage water.

How disruptive will this be to our business?

There will be no disruption to your business or to your customers when AQUALIS performs maintenance services. We may ask for pallets to be moved that are blocking stormwater features, and we will ask the store manager to sign off on the completion of work. But other than that, we will manage your stormwater so you do not have to. When doing repair work, we will work with the facility/store/property manager to schedule the best time to complete the work so that you will be appropriately prepared.

Can a stormwater maintenance plan help with flooding and/or flash flooding? Will it allow us to be better prepared for potential hurricanes?

Absolutely. A good preventative maintenance program will keep your system performing as it was originally designed, therefore greatly reducing the chances of flooding. However, some flash flooding during hurricanes is to be expected. Stormwater systems are designed to regulate the flow of stormwater when possible but also divert excess water during significant events. Some flooding is to be expected but if your property is holding water for over 48 hours, contact a stormwater professional.

Why does my property need an inspection if it is regularly maintained?

Some municipalities require a stormwater inspection to be submitted and officially reviewed. These inspections often are tailored to the city or county’s expectations and are therefore more detailed than a regular maintenance visits report. Stormwater maintenance is crucial to ensuring your stormwater system survives for its expected lifespan. While performing maintenance, a stormwater professional will identify deficiencies for potential repair, but these may be out of the scope of regular maintenance. Annual inspections are recommended as they are a comprehensive look at your property and how every asset works together.
